The show was mostly a tribute to the present tense, celebrating the now. Highlights included a heartfelt “I Got the Sun in the Morning,” a rollicking “Don’t Nobody Bring Me No Bad News,” and a tender “No One Is Alone.” Wicker also worked to chase the impending winter weather away with a jaunty version of “It Might As Well Be Spring.”

Her greatest strength comes as a keen observer of the human condition, demonstrated in songs such as Judy Collins’s “Blizzard” and Steve Sieck’s “Complaint Letters to God.” Best of all, Wicker has the wisdom to offer her observations rather than answers, as in her gentle version of “Lost in the Stars.”

Musical Director Rick Jensen provided able support in a full range of colors and was a charming duet partner on “Mountain Greenery.”
