Greetings and Happy 2015 from the banks of the Potomac! At a venue on those banks, the Kennedy Center, you’ll find performances by Will Chase 1/9 and LaChanze 2/13 in the Barbara Cook’s Spotlight series and a Valentine’s Day show by Kurt Elling 2/14.

The Strathmore Arts Center has an active schedule including: Delores King Williams in I Love Being Here with You 1/10, Jason Alexander with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra 1/22; John Pizzarelli & Jane Monheit 2/14; Harry Connick, Jr. 2/20-21; and Diana Krall 2/26. Wolftrap hosts the other Nashville star, Laura Benanti, 1/25, not to mention Bettye LaVette and John Eaton.

Mark Russell, whose political musical satire act defined Washington’s cabaret scene for decades, returns in an engagement at the Birchmere 1/4. The Signature Cabaret Series presents the Signature Tenors 2/24-28.

Germano’s Piattini rings in the New Year with Troy Koger in Start All Over 1/2.
