It’s going to be a very quiet time for cabaret during the upcoming months here in the Delaware Valley. At this writing, many of the clubs in the tri-State area have not yet posted their schedules, including The RRazz Room in New Hope, PA and Shanghai Jazz in Madison, NJ. The only scheduled show at this time at The RRazz Room is Sally Kellerman in From Hot Lips to Cool Jazz, Blues & Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/24.

Down in center city Philadelphia at the Kimmel Center, Capathia Jenkins and Darius de Haas join the Philly Pops in a program titled Classic Soul 2/6-8. The Center will also present The Skivvies: Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, who strip down to their underwear and perform a hilarious evening of song and comedy 2/12-14.

Elsewhere in PA, Jackie Evancho will perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony at Heinz Hall 2/23. Penn State University presents French-born jazz singer Cyrille Aimée, at Schwab Auditorium on the campus in State College. Steve Lippia can be seen at the State Theatre in Easton, PA with a 100th Year Birthday Celebration tribute to Frank Sinatra 2/20.

Across the Delaware River in NJ, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, in cooperation with 54 Below in NYC, will showcase The Sound of Their Music: Rodgers and Hammerstein 1/24 with Telly Leung, Emily Skinner, Christianne Noll and Gregg Edelman. Harry Connick, Jr. appears at the State Theatre in New Brunswick 2/22. In Atlantic City, a couple of pop performers, who are also known to perform works from the Great American Songbook, will appear: Natalie Cole takes the stage at the Tropicana Casino and Resort 1/17, while on the same day Chaka Khan can be seen at Harrah’s Resort. On 2/28, Diana Krall performs in the Circus Maximus theater.
