Spring brings blossoms of song all around the area. Right on the Potomac, at the Kennedy Center, Malcom Gets appears in Barbara Cook’s Spotlight series 3/27. Also at the Center are Lynda Carter in The Time of My Life 4/4, Cassandra Wilson 3/27 and Dianne Reeves 4/11. Ute Lemper appears with the Washington Performing Arts Society at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue 4/25.

Across the river in Virginia, Jane Monheit is at Wolf Trap 4/9, and the Birchmere presents Rachelle Ferrell 3/6 & 7 and hosts An Evening with Jane Lynch 4/24 & 25.

In Maryland, the Music Center at Strathmore features Audra McDonald 3/27 and Engelbert Humperdinck 4/15. Also at Strathmore, a new group presents Over the Rainbow: The Songs of Harold Arlen featuring Elisha Gamble, Sean McDermott and Erin Davie with music direction by Michael Lavine.
